An Introduction to My PhD in N Parts: Part 1/N.

In April, I posted about how I had a bit of a crisis in my PhD – if only because I was encountering what was basically the Peter-principle point of my natural abilities.

I spent spring term revising my PhD plan, thinking of how to, as some advice had been put to me, actually “do the doing”.

And I have managed to overcome that crisis, to find the motivation to go beyond coasting. To think, do, and write critically. I’ll be making mistakes. I’ll trip up and fall. But I’ve been handed the tools to get back up again and go on. Not plod on, I’ve been doing too much plodding. But actually doing.

Over the next few months, I’ll be posting brief summaries of my findings for every bit of writing that I do. I’ve been collecting my corpus over August, so that post will be the first scheduled. After that, probably my lexical findings.

So, basically: An Introduction to My PhD in N Parts.

If anything it’ll help me in writing my abstract when I’m done
